Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic
Integrated Concrete Construction is a Bay Area-based construction company seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to support our growing operations throughout Northern California. Relocation assistance or a relocation bonus may be available for qualified candidates who meet hiring requirements.
We are seeking a skilled mechanic with at least 5 years of experience. The ideal candidate owns their own tools, is proficient in welding, and has experience working on Class 8 trucks, medium-duty trucks (F-450s, F-550s), trailers, and construction equipment.
Responsibilities include full-service maintenance, brake repairs, chassis lubrication, electrical troubleshooting, trailer rewiring, air brake systems, DOT/90-day inspections, and complete repairs on construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair truck, trailer, and construction equipment systems, including:
Air brake systems
Tires and wheel assemblies
Suspension components
Hydraulic systems
Electrical systems
Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
Conduct 90-day inspections and safety inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
Respond to road calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field
Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems
Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, or trailer mechanic
Strong knowledge of air brake systems (required)
Experience repairing and servicing Class 8 trucks, medium-duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
Experience with tire repair and replacement
Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Must own and maintain professional mechanic tools
Welding experience required
Required License
Valid California Class C Driver's License
Must be able to operate company vehicles for road calls and off-site repairs
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
CDL is a plus
Experience with DOT compliance and inspections
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods
Ability to work around heavy equipment, machinery, and construction operations
Work Environment
Outdoor yard and shop environment
Field service and road call work as needed
Exposure to weather conditions, noise, dust, and mechanical hazards
