Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This Refrigeration and A/C Service Technician Senior position works in the District Five office located in Hutchinson, KS. This position provides skilled technical services for maintenance and repair of air-conditioning and heating systems, as well as electrical and plumbing systems in District, Area and Subarea buildings.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Replaces and repairs light fixtures inside and outside of buildings, and adds additional circuits as needed.
- Replaces and repairs HVAC systems including worn or non-working parts of compressors, switches, relays, thermostats, blower motors, safety devices, etc., for correct functioning systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, fittings, water heaters and related equipment including installation of supply lines, and boiler maintenance and repair.
- Purchases repair parts and supplies as needed and routinely records in maintenance program all preventative maintenance on district wide heating and air units.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in refrigeration/air-conditioning repair work.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver's License at time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in the practices of electrical installation and repairs at journeyman level.
- Knowledge in the installation and repair of heating and air-conditioning systems at journeyman level.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems in electrical, heating and air conditioning.
- Ability to read and comprehend shop repair manuals and equipment parts manuals.

- This position is subject to pre-employment physical capacity testing. The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment.
