Solar Electrician
Position Title: Solar Installation Electrician (EE98J)
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Department: Operations
Reports To: Project Manager / General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Solar Installation Electrician (EE98J) is responsible for performing and overseeing electrical work associated with residential and light commercial solar installations. This role ensures all work meets code requirements, passes inspections the first time, and reflects SunState+ commitment to clean, high-quality installations.
This position requires a licensed EE98J electrician to be present on job sites as needed to meet inspection and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installation of solar PV systems, including BOS, batteries, inverters, disconnects, and tie-ins
Complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs) and service changes as required
Ensure all work complies with NEC, local AHJ requirements, and utility standards
Be present on job sites when required for inspections where an EE98J license is mandated
Coordinate with the project manager and field team to maintain installation schedules
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in the field
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
Uphold SunState+ standards of clean, above-average installations
Communicate effectively with team members, office staff, and customers
Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle
Work Area & Travel
Work performed throughout Central and Northern New Mexico (Belen to Santa Fe)
Daily travel to job sites required
Company truck provided during work hours
Qualifications
Current EE98J Electrical License (New Mexico) - required
2+ years of electrical and/or solar installation experience preferred
Experience with residential and light commercial solar systems
Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
Experience performing main panel upgrades (MPUs)
Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, and one-lines
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Expectations

Consistently pass inspections with minimal or no corrections
Maintain professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
