Industrial Maintenance Technician

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has just under 1,300 employees and more than 100 acres covered areas, including five casting units, hot or cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 Billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 Billion aluminum cans per year .

Industrial Maintenance Technician

Wages: $31.25-$39.07/hr with increases in pay at the beginning of each year. Hourly rate is based on experience. Starting rate will be based on applicable experience.

This position will be for DC Casting operations that will be starting up later this year. This operation will be part of the production processes at our Element 13 processing unit, which is our recycling center.

Work environment:

• Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and/or the elements at times.
• Must be wiling to work safely around molten aluminum, and could be required to work at height depending the equipment being maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on various types of industrial equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and instrument work.
• Planning proper procedures, selecting suitable tools, equipment and materials, performing the necessary work to complete a job to specification on schedule and in an efficient manner.
• Proactive involvement in maintenance to report and prevent any deficiencies.
• Reports to maintenance supervisor and often works with maintenance engineers.
• Responsible for keeping craft skills up-to-date through on-going training.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment adhering to 5S standards and all safety procedures while working efficiently to complete daily and weekly work schedules on time.
• Must be able to troubleshoot issues by being able to read and understand schematics, blueprints, manuals, manufacturers specifications, and diagrams to diagnose the root cause of the problem.

Must be able to use testing equipment and meters to identify issues with equipment.

Qualifications :

• Technical degree in Industrial Systems Maintenance or similar, and 2 or more years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting, or high school education or equivalent with 5 or more years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and instrument work.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic functions and interpret drawings, graphs, blue prints, safety rules and regulations.
