JOB SUMMARY:
A diesel mechanic inspects, repairs, and maintains diesel-powered engines and equipment, ensuring vehicles such as trucks, buses, and heavy machinery operate safely and efficiently using welding tools and having the ability to rebuild egines.Goodwill Staffing is a full-service staffing agency within Goodwill of Colorado. Goodwill Staffing offers many employment opportunities such as temporary-to-hire and temporary day labor positions. Goodwill Staffing serves the Colorado Springs and Denver areas. Goodwill Staffing works with a variety of Clients offering a variety of job opportunities.
The Goodwill Staffing (GSS), Craft Workers position will consist of short-term employment opportunities that may become temp-to-hire positions. This position is usually indoors/outdoors, and the incumbent will be exposed to various shop elements, loud noises, and equipment. These opportunities are typically more physical requiring the incumbent to be walking, standing, twisting, bending, and/or carrying/moving heavy objects through their shift. The GSS, Craft Workers, position is customer-facing and will represent the Client and Goodwill in a positive manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on septic and waste management fleet
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake systems
- Conduct tire maintenance and replacements
- Test drive vehicles when properly certified
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and services
- Keep work area clean, safe, and organized
- Communicate effectively with drivers, team members, and management
- Support a positive and safety-focused work culture
