General Laborer / Facility Maintenance Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 5:00 PM (or until the last customer leaves). Saturdays if needed during the busy season and boat show weekend.

Position Overview

HM Boats is seeking a dependable, hardworking General Laborer / Boat Yard Assistant to join our team. This is a physically active position and is not a desk job. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors, staying busy throughout the day, and taking pride in maintaining a clean, professional facility. Note, This position requires working both indoors and outdoors in the heat, cold, and rain and involves physical labor including lifting, sanding, painting, and cleaning.

This position supports our boat sales, service, storage, and marina operations through a variety of cleaning, maintenance, detailing, and boat preparation tasks.

Responsibilities
Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining clean shop areas
Trash removal and facility housekeeping
Cleaning customer areas, offices, and restrooms
Washing windows and glass surfaces
Grass cutting, trimming, edging, and grounds maintenance
Washing, waxing, and detailing boats
Preparing boats for delivery and customer pickup
Assisting with boat loading, unloading, and movement around the facility
Sanding boat bottoms and preparing surfaces for paint
Applying bottom paint and assisting with boat maintenance projects
Cleaning docks, marina areas, and storage facilities
Moving equipment, materials, and supplies as needed
Assisting service technicians and other staff members
Performing general maintenance and repair tasks
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the day
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic hand tool knowledge is a plus
Experience in general labor, landscaping, construction, detailing, painting, marina operations, or maintenance is helpful but not required

Preferred Qualifications
Experience washing and detailing boats
Experience with sanding and painting
Experience operating lawn equipment
Forklift experience is a plus (but not required)
