The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart is seeking someone highly motivated person to join our team as a Corrections Maintenance Foreman. As Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will supervise and assist inmate work crews completing routine construction, janitorial, grounds keeping, and maintenance work assignments in and around the facility. Our team will rely on you to help keep the facility safe, clean, and well maintained. Your duties will include the following:
- Crew Supervision: Oversee inmate work crews as they complete routine construction, maintenance, janitorial, and other general maintenance work tasks
- Assign Work: Plan daily inmate schedules, inspect completed work assignments, and provide instructions on equipment use
- Trades Assistance: Perform or assist in semi-skilled journey-level work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, welding, or other skilled trades
- Tool Control: Issue and inventory all materials and tools used to complete work assignments; conduct search es as needed
- Materials Planning: Determine supply and materials needs to complete assigned work; submit purchase requests for materials and tools as necessary

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday Sunday.
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925 (before taxes) .

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
