Assembler Job Description As an assembler, you will be responsible for preparing work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists while gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. You will position parts and subassemblies using templates and reading measurements, and ensure components are correctly assembled and installed. Responsibilities Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists. Position parts and subassemblies using templates and reading measurements. Tighten and fasten prefabricated electrical or electronic parts and install components, units, subassemblies, raceways, wiring, and assembly casings. Prepare wire by identifying, separating, trimming, clipping, tinning wires and leads, wiring according to specifications, and packaging. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies. Drill and tap holes in specified equipment locations for mounting control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments. Measure, cut, and glue PVC pipe. Cross-train as needed. Use a square bit power drill to construct tables for storage. Pack wires onto cart to be palletized and fulfill orders correctly by initialing a QC sheet. Spool wires to specified lengths, place labels, cut, and zip tie using a custom-built machine. Store wires into carts to be moved within the department. Use an electronic device to test the electric current of wires. Place specific color tape on wires. Use a polypropylene strapping kit to prepare bags for shipment. Use sandpaper, alcohol, and a heat gun to prepare and glue rings onto thicker wire. Follow safety measures such as unplugging and properly storing tools. Essential Skills Experience in assembly, using hand tools and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in mechanical assembly and production processes. Skill in wiring, splicing wires, and crimping. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing and production environments. Familiarity with mechanical processes and power tools.
