Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of a manufacturing environment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise to diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. The Maintenance Mechanic supports all manufacturing areas to enhance product quality and maintain compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities Ensure all equipment and building structures meet food manufacturing standards and compliance requirements. Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and facility systems. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, driving cost savings and process enhancements. Provide technical guidance and support to management and other departments. Communicate repair steps, parts requirements, and estimated completion times clearly and professionally. Assist in technical training for cross-functional teams. Interpret blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and schematics to identify repair needs and parts. Maintain compliance with 5S, housekeeping, and food safety standards, including SQF system integrity. Perform advanced-level repairs on complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors. Lift and maneuver heavy parts and materials safely. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Expert-level troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex repairs. Proficiency in disassembling and reassembling equipment using correct replacement parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Strong work ethic and disciplined approach to problem-solving. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
