Die Repair Technician – Direct Hire
Location: Edinburgh, IN
Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:30 PM – 1:30 AM
Training may be conducted on 1st shift
Pay: $22.00–$24.00/hr (based on experience)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Die Repair Technician for a direct hire opportunity with an industrial client in Edinburgh, IN. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience in press machine die maintenance—please note, this is not an injection mold position.
We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in grinding, welding, and sharpening dies. If you take pride in precision work and enjoy working in a manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair press dies to ensure continuous production operations.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, etc.).
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other tools (manual or CNC).
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan fabrication sequences.
Visualize and calculate required dimensions and tolerances.
Assemble, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.
Disassemble and reassemble molds and fixtures as needed.
Use CAD software to design and interpret blueprints (preferred, not required).
Additional Duties:
Build new fixtures using dies and tools.
Perform thorough inspections for defects or imperfections.
Conduct functionality tests on equipment and fixtures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Collaborate with engineers and machinists.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of metallic properties and die functions.
Ability to use precision measuring equipment and read technical drawings.
Capable of working independently or within a team.
Qualifications:
Minimum 6 months of relevant die maintenance experience.
On-the-job training available.
Welding certificate a plus.
TIG/MIG welding experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
