Die Repair Technician – Direct Hire
Location: Edinburgh, IN
Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:30 PM – 1:30 AM
Training may be conducted on 1st shift
Pay: $22.00–$24.00/hr (based on experience)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Die Repair Technician for a direct hire opportunity with an industrial client in Edinburgh, IN. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience in press machine die maintenance—please note, this is not an injection mold position.

We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in grinding, welding, and sharpening dies. If you take pride in precision work and enjoy working in a manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair press dies to ensure continuous production operations.

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, etc.).

  • Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other tools (manual or CNC).

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan fabrication sequences.

  • Visualize and calculate required dimensions and tolerances.

  • Assemble, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.

  • Disassemble and reassemble molds and fixtures as needed.

  • Use CAD software to design and interpret blueprints (preferred, not required).

Additional Duties:

  • Build new fixtures using dies and tools.

  • Perform thorough inspections for defects or imperfections.

  • Conduct functionality tests on equipment and fixtures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Solid understanding of metallic properties and die functions.

  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and read technical drawings.

  • Capable of working independently or within a team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant die maintenance experience.

  • On-the-job training available.

  • Welding certificate a plus.

  • TIG/MIG welding experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
