Job Summary
Job Description
Raque Food Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Assembly Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing team. This dual-role position involves the assembly of custom food production machinery in our facility and traveling to customer sites for equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, experienced in TIG welding, and capable of delivering excellent customer service during field visits.
Key Responsibilities
Service Technician Duties
Communicate with customers regarding service needs and maintenance schedules
Recommend solutions or products based on customer requirements
Answer questions related to equipment usage, availability, and service procedures
Follow up after service visits to ensure customer satisfaction and provide ongoing support
Coordinate drawings, estimates, and proposals for customer-specific projects
Complete service and expense reports in accordance with company procedures
Comply with company travel policies and guidelines
Assembly Mechanic Duties
Safely use hand and power tools in the assembly of machinery
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, specifications, and assembly instructions
Position and align parts and subassemblies using measuring tools and templates
Perform quality TIG welding on stainless steel components to USDA standards
Monitor production output and ensure compliance with quality standards
Inspect materials, products, and equipment for defects or malfunctions
Maintain accurate records of hours worked and job costing
General Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following safety protocols
Comply with all PPE requirements and company safety policies
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Physical Demands
Stand for 9–10 hours per day
Regularly walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Use hands to handle or feel components and tools
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
Work may require exposure to loud environments, vibration, and outdoor conditions (heat/cold)
Work Environment
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment
Work may occur in both manufacturing and customer site environments
Noise level is typically moderate; occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions
Qualifications
Mechanical assembly experience required; experience with food production machinery preferred
Proficient in TIG welding, especially on stainless steel
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently based on production and service needs
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification is a plus
