Mine Electrician

The Mine Electrician will perform electrical inspections and maintenance on all mine equipment including trucks, shovels, facilities, etc.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAble to meet the physical demand of the position according to the Physical Demands AnalysisRegular and predictable attendancePerform all electrical PM and monthly MSHA inspectionsTroubleshooting and repair of the electrical circuits in the plant and assist with shop, shovel and haul truck problems as neededAssist with day-to-day trouble callsGenerate work orders and order parts & materials necessary to complete repair work on a scheduled basisCommunicate and coordinate all PM scheduling requirements with maintenance electrical planners and plant plannersFollow all mine safety requirements and best practicesWork 12 hour rotating shiftAttend all team meetingsOptimize use of maintenance downtime to maintain plant availability at or above budgeted parametersUpdate the PM inspection sheets for all PMsOther tasks or projects as assignedComply with Company drug and alcohol policyQUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY MSHA low, medium and high voltage electrical certification Experience in electrical troubleshooting and repairs on all mining equipment Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.), SAP, and the willingness to learn associated plant and maintenance software applications Satisfactory performance and safety record Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and coordinate activities with other technicians, outside vendors and all other employees Ability to work with little or no supervision and capable of making decisions and solving problems
