Maintenance Technician - Refrigeration

Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join their team. As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the operational efficiency of the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

Location: Sterling, Virginia

Pay Range: $83,000 - $96,000

What's the Job?

• Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance on all ammonia refrigeration and utility systems.
• Conduct daily inspections of temperatures and conditions of the ammonia system.
• Document all maintenance activities and adhere to safety and operational policies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.

What's Needed?

• Must have refrigeration experience in food manufacturing.
• GCAP and/or RETA certification combined with EPA Type II Certification.
• At least 2 years of hands-on ammonia experience.
• Ability to pass respirator fit tests and pulmonary function tests.
• Willingness to complete a 24-hour HAZMAT class.
