Assistant Lead (Welder/Fitter)

Coordinate set-up schedule with machine operators/machinists. Perform First Article Inspections quality procedure as needed. Make program offset adjustments at machine for machine operators. Perform external portion of required set-up including staging of material as needed. Support machine operator/machinist with internal set-up to eliminate machine down time. Record performance to standard of external/internal set-up activities (future state). Document programming issues (follow up as needed). Fill in for Leadman during vacation, illness or other general absences. Supervise up to 10.

Education: High school diploma or GED (foreign equivalent accepted).

Experience: 3 years of experience as a welder, fitter, welder/fitter, assistant supervisor, assistant lead, or similar position.

Skills/Requirements: 3 years experience with welding; 3 years experience with fitting; 3 years experience interpreting weld symbols; 3 years experience interpreting engineering drawings; 3 years experience supervising welders and fitters. Employment contingent on passing background check, physical check, respirator exam (respirator fit test), and drug screen test. All experience, skills and requirements may be gained concurrently.
