Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Vehicle Fleet Maintenance Technician who is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness, compliance, and life cycle maintenance of a vehicle fleet. This role involves conducting system fault analysis, coordinating maintenance schedules, supporting integrated product support (IPS), and interfacing with procurement to manage service agreements. The technician ensures that all vehicles meet Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and supports fleet performance through proactive oversight and planning.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Perform system fault analysis and diagnostics on fleet vehicles.
- Conduct and coordinate life cycle maintenance for all vehicles in the fleet.
- Support integrated product support (IPS) strategies to enhance fleet reliability and performance.
- Oversee day-to-day vehicle maintenance activities, including tracking service intervals and documentation.
- Interface directly with procurement buyers to ensure vehicle maintenance services and contracts are active and properly executed.
- Maintain records of vehicle performance, inspections, repairs, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to applicable DOT regulations and internal policies.
- Provide input for fleet maintenance forecasting, planning, and recapitalization efforts.
- Collaborate with logistics and fleet management teams to ensure vehicle availability aligns with operational requirements.
- Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate and up-to-date service records.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 24 years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, maintenance support, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of logistics processes, including inventory control, transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with life cycle maintenance and system fault analysis of major systems.
- Understanding of integrated product support (IPS) principles.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and act on operational data to support standard logistics processes.
- Proficient with common logistics or inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maintenance Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with DoD or government logistics support systems.
- Familiarity with ERP or logistics platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo).
- Experience implementing or supporting process improvements in logistics or maintenance operations.
- Understanding of safety assurance practices in a logistics or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated success in supporting cross-functional logistics or maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of transportation management and materials handling best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and improve logistics workflows.
