BFC is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty special foundation construction equipment.

This is a seasonal job. Applicants should be local to the Sacramento, CA area. We are unable to offer relocation for this position at this time.

Reports to: Project Manager/Superintendent

Position: Full time

Job Type: Seasonal

Schedule: 6 days per week, 12 hours per day

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:

Driving to job sites.

Inspecting large drill rigs, high pressure pumps, slurry mix plants and other heavy equipment for proper performance.

Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.

Trouble shooting hydraulic and electrical systems.

Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.

Repairing damaged equipment parts.

Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty machines.

Performing major repair work when necessary.

Consulting with other mechanics.

Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Creating parts lists needed to repair equipment.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic.

Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.

Understanding of computer testing technologies.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Extensive knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Capable of reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Ability to work after-hours if required.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work on a team.
