Maintenance Worker

The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District is in search of a reliable, skilled maintenance professional. The ideal candidate will possess significant work experience, specifically technical knowledge with automated building systems. Although work may be assigned to any of the district buildings and grounds, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for maintenance of a newly constructed 109,855 square foot elementary school.Summary of Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):Perform ongoing maintenance of all buildings which includes boilers, hot water heaters, direct expansion cooling, rooftop air handling units, displacement ventilation, LED lighting, building management software, controls, and many other mechanical, electrical, fire protection, plumbing and architectural features of a 21st-century building.The maintenance staff member should be prepared to conduct ongoing inspections of the equipment and conduct maintenance and/ or call vendors as required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to make decisions within established guidelines Perform general building maintenance such as repairing broken locks, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, changing air filters, damage to walls, painting, light carpentryInspect and troubleshoot various equipment and building systemsDemonstrate ability to successfully perform electrical troubleshooting and repairsCommunicate status reports to Director of Facilities regarding resolved issues, those needing attention and those currently in progressManage maintenance repair tickets through district provided cell phoneSeasonal duties include snow plowing, preparing entrances and sidewalks for timely school openingInspect building inside and outside for integrated pest management concernsPerform on-call coverage on a rotating basisPerform all assigned duties as requested by Administration

Job QualificationsMust pass Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checkMust pass fingerprinting background checkHigh school diplomaPreferred minimum three years experience in commercial building maintenance Demonstrate proficiency with the technology associated with automated building systemsPreferred working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systemsManual dexterity and coordination required to perform dutiesAbility to work pleasantly and knowledgeably with staff and the public at all age levels.Ability to give and follow written and oral instructionsAbility to climb extension ladders and genie liftAbility to lift, carry and manage heavy boxes or equipment around 50 poundsAbility to operate a snow plowExperience working with tools, including hand and electrical toolsBilingual preferred by not necessaryImmediate Supervisor: Director of Buildings and GroundsSalary: $29.09-$33.42 per hour depending on experience
