The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position.
The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Plumber. This is a permanent full-time state position located at the Portland Air National Guard Base (PANG) Portland, Oregon.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union.

What You Will be Doing
The purpose of this job/position is to support the Base Civil Engineering and the Operations and Maintenance of the Portland Air National Guard Installation. Perform skilled, journey-level work installing, maintaining servicing and repairing the water and sewer distribution systems and associated plumbing fixtures at Portland Air National Guard Base (PANG).
Working Conditions
Operates on or near heavy equipment and power tools. Subject to noise, adverse weather, dangerous equipment, pesticides, fertilizers daily and hazardous waste materials. Manual labor is required. Must walk, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time. Must be able to work safely with power tools, hand tools and other equipment. Must be able to operate government vehicles. Works around equipment with high voltage, 480 volts AC or less. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
What You Need to Qualify
A valid Oregon Plumber's License.
You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid Oregon Plumbers License during the selection process.

Additional Requirements
Must possess or obtain within 6 months of employment and maintain a backflow assembly tester certification.
Due to Federal requirements this position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid federal ID such as "Real ID" Oregon Drivers License or Passport to gain access to the Portland Air National Guard Base.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Requested Skills/Experience
Must have knowledge to know when, where, and how to properly wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conditions of Employment
Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon Plumbers License.
Must possess or obtain within 6 months of employment and maintain a backflow assembly tester certification.
The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DoD SECRET security clearance and eligibility to obtain a USAF Restricted Area Badge. (Duties and responsibilities include unescorted access to restricted areas that may contain classified equipment or materials up to secret level).
To retain employment incumbent must possess or be able to possess and maintain a favorable completed National Agency Check in order to receive and retain an AF Form 1199 restricted area badge.
Employee is required to respond to disasters per PIA OPLAN 93-2, 91-15, 355-1 SPR and others as necessary.
Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPMs, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01
