Heart Hospital - Maintenance Engineer - $25 per hour**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to ensure the safety and functionality of our hospital equipment and building components. The role requires compliance with OSHA standards and prompt response to emergencies to protect employees, patients, and facilities.
You will diagnose mechanical problems, propose solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients, all while maintaining a professional appearance and workmanship.
**Responsibilities**
+ Comply with OSHA standards.
+ Respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure safety.
+ Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
+ Provide solutions to ensure safety and comfort for staff and patients.
+ Maintain professionalism in appearance and workmanship.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mechanical, Plumbing, Preventive maintenance, Facility and Facilities maintenance.
+ Electrical, HVAC troubleshooting and Maintenance Technician skills.
+ Electrical Apprenticeship experience.
+ GED or HS Diploma.
+ Basic computer skills, such as proficiency in Office or Word.
+ 3.5+ years of experience in facility technician or construction field.
+ 1.5+ years of experience in maintenance with HVAC troubleshooting.
+ Experience with 277 voltage, air handling, and changing filters.
+ Ability to use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and electrical testing devices.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ EPA Certification.
+ Experience in direct hospital or large-scale hotel/building maintenance.
+ Knowledge of city of Austin Amendments to the code.
+ Degree from Trade School.
+ Veterans from Navy or Army are encouraged to apply.
**Work Environment**
The work will be performed within the facility, involving new construction and existing commercial buildings. The candidate should be flexible to work on different shifts, including 7AM-3:30PM, 3PM-11:30PM, and 11PM-7:30AM, with rotating weekends and occasional evening or night shifts as required.
