Description: Maintenance Engineer I, 1 FTE

Job Summary: Completes daily work orders as assigned by the Manager of Facilities Operations or Director of Building and Grounds.

Assist Maintenance Engineers when needed to perform various tasks and do minor preventive maintenance work as directed.

Transporting, in an expeditious manner, the district's mail, and supplies as needed, and providing clean, healthy, and safe learning and working environments.

Qualifications: Knowledge of appropriate handling of chemicals such as: pesticides, herbicides, acid, fertilizer, lime, paint, salt, adhesives, cleaning fluids and compounds, liquid tar.

Knowledge of appropriate handling and use of equipment such as: trucks, vans, dump trucks, trailers, tractors, bobcats, forklifts, snowblades, salt spreaders, mowers, trimmers, leaf blower and weed eaters. Hand and power

tools, ladders, back hoe, man lift, Hilti drill, sprayers, aerator, ditch digger, and chain saws.

Basic computer knowledge and skills using email and work order system.

Some experience with general building maintenance is helpful.

Ability to drive a box truck (non CDL).

Ability to demonstrate a record of accountability, acceptance of responsibility, and productivity.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week and 260 days per year.

Per salary schedule at Lakota, starting at $20.15 per hour, based on verified previous experience.
