Job Description and Duties

- Perform and oversee the completion of tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, window, and roofing repairs, as needed to maintain buildings.
- Perform and oversee the completion of tasks such as fencing repair and set-up/installation of temporary structures.
- Perform advanced landscaping duties & supervise others in the mowing, landscaping, edging, and fertilizing lawns and pruning trees and shrubs.
- Perform advanced repairs and supervise others in the repair, recommend and execute tasks for sewer, water lines, sprinklers, valves and other grounds keeping duties.
- Operate equipment such as tractors, dump truck, water truck, Bobcat, blowers, mowers, loaders, trenchers, and forklift and boom truck for the maintenance of the grounds and to help with the setup of interim events.
- Perform preventative maintenance and service on equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.

Working Conditions
The work is performed outdoors, resulting in exposure to wind, rain, extended sun, and varying temperatures. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions including wearing protective equipment such as goggles, masks, welding face shields and gloves. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and bend at the waist and kneel and is occasionally required to squat, climb, and twist at the waist and neck.
The incumbent is required to possess and maintain a valid CA Driver's License and good driving record.
All 35A DAA employees are expected to be team oriented, always maintain professional behavior and positive communication, when dealing with the public and fellow employees.
Occasionally required to work Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and irregular hours. During the annual fair or for other rentals/events, the incumbent is required to work long or odd hours, different shifts and/or weekends.

Department Information
The 35-A District Agricultural Association, (DDA) consists of approximately 32 acres with a 2,500-seat arena, two 5,000 square feet halls, various additional buildings, a maintenance shop, livestock barns and show rings and two parking areas. 35-A DAA hosts the annual Mariposa County Fair and Homecoming which includes Livestock Shows, Horse Shows, Rodeo and Derby. As well, operates as a multi-purpose, multi-functional, year-round facility accommodating a variety of interim events which preserves, promotes and showcases the area's agriculture and other talents of its culturally diverse communities.
