Whitney Housing Authority is seeking a dependable and motivated Seasonal Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and functionality of our community facilities. In this hands-on role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our residents. Your work will directly contribute to the health, comfort, and satisfaction of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.

Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair a variety of issues, such as leaks, faulty wiring, malfunctioning systems, and damaged structures. Respond promptly to work orders and emergencies.

Installations: Assist with installing appliances, fixtures, and other equipment, ensuring all work follows safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.

Groundskeeping: May include lawn care, minor landscaping, trash removal, and seasonal outdoor maintenance as needed.

Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure work meets relevant codes, regulations, and housing authority standards.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in building maintenance, general repairs, or related fieldspreferably in a residential or multifamily setting

Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems

Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and complete tasks efficiently

Familiarity with safety standards and proper tool use

Good communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with residents and staff

Strong time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Valid driver's license required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy items

Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions for extended periods
