DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment critical to the efficient functioning of the treatment facility. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and systems essential for wastewater treatment processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical education or certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance is required, preferably in a wastewater treatment or similar process industry.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License (Class C) at time of placement.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, including principles of troubleshooting, diagnostic techniques, and repair procedures.
- Knowledge of technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics, with the ability to interpret equipment specifications for maintenance and repair.
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues using industry-standard techniques and tools.
- Skill in reading and interpreting technical documentation, including schematics and blueprints, to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Skill in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Skill in problem-solving and critical thinking to assess and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to complete maintenance and repair projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple tasks and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, and control systems, to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to identify and address root causes of issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems, safety hazards, and maintenance needs, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and upgrades, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Provide training and guidance to plant personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety practices to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position is an essential service position and will require providing services during emergency situations.
