Maintain the grounds and facilities of the City's municipal golf course and other facilities as assigned. Maintain equipment, turf, landscaping, grounds, irrigation systems, and perform other duties as assigned. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: This information is intended to be descriptive of the principal duties and responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Maintain the putting greens and tees using specialized equipment. Maintain sand traps, fairways, and roughs with various landscaping tools. General grounds upkeep: trimming, debris removal, landscaping, restroom cleaning, sign installation, etc. Apply pesticides; control vegetation, and ensure safe handling procedures. Provide excellent customer service and enforcement of golf course rules. Assist with department activities and special events. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Physical and Environmental Conditions: Duties are generally performed in both outdoor and indoor settings. This is medium to heavy work requiring the exertion of fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move, lift and push objects. Work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. This position is subject to outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold, extreme heat, hazards, and atmospheric conditions. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities:

Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.

One year of agronomy experience preferred.

Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver s License.

Possession of a current Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) Pesticide license preferred.

Basic operational and vocational skills equivalent to a high school education.

Knowledge of landscaping, equipment operation, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, and turf care.

Familiarity with pesticide handling and application standards.

Mowers, tractors, carts, weed eaters, chainsaws, backhoes, trimmers, power tools, PPE including hard hats and goggles.

Ability to work collaboratively and courteously with others.

Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Special Requirements:

Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
