Field Service Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This position involves traveling throughout Northern Minnesota, North Dakota, and Northern South Dakota regions to service equipment at major packaging facilities such as FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. The role requires overnight travel for six weeks per quarter, with the remaining seven weeks involving daily travel to nearby facilities where you will be home each night. Typical tasks include traveling to locations like Alexandria, repairing conveyors or HVAC systems, and returning. Repair tasks may last between 2 to 7 hours and can include welding if qualified. Employees are compensated for overtime after 8 hours each day and will travel in a company truck with a team member. Every Monday, there is a scheduled drive to Burnsville, MN, for weekly route discussions. This drive time is compensated, and carpooling is possible with a St. Cloud-based colleague.
**Responsibilities**
+ Execute preventative maintenance at customer facilities, primarily on conveyors, and replace defective parts.
+ Align and test equipment to ensure proper function.
+ Adapt and custom fabricate components as needed.
+ Troubleshoot and track conveyor belts according to facility specifications.
+ Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, and connect motors, couplings, and belts with precision.
+ Use rigging equipment and dollies to position heavy machinery and parts.
+ Work with electrical sensors and perform welding/fabrication if qualified.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in maintenance technician roles, especially conveyor maintenance.
+ Proficiency in welding and industrial maintenance.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics and electrical systems.
+ Experience in industrial maintenance.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with conveyors is beneficial.
+ Willingness to travel to Burnsville for the first two weeks of the job, with gas reimbursement.
+ Ability to be on call 24/7 in case of emergencies.
