JOB DESCRIPTION
Mechanical Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and hydraulics.
Conduct routine lubrication, alignment, and part replacements to ensure machine reliability.
Fabricate brackets, supports, or components as needed using metalworking tools and welding equipment.
Use precision tools to ensure components meet operational specifications.
Electrical Responsibilities
Install and maintain electrical systems up to 480V, including power distribution panels, lighting, and control cabinets.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, diagrams, and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters).
Perform lockout/tagout procedures and ensure compliance with all electrical safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
Motor Control Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, and overload protection systems.
Install and configure variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, and motor protection devices.
Test, wire, and commission motor control panels and motor circuits according to specifications.
Read and interpret one-line diagrams, ladder logic, and control wiring diagrams.
Automation Support
Assist with troubleshooting PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Collaborate with automation and controls engineers during upgrades or system modifications.
Document modifications and updates to control systems for compliance and future troubleshooting.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, technical diploma or associate degree in Industrial Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance with emphasis on motor control systems.
Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), NFPA 70E safety standards, and industrial best practices.
Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with CMMS software for work orders and maintenance tracking.
Skills
Advanced troubleshooting of both mechanical and electrical systems.
Strong understanding of industrial motor control circuits, PLC interfaces, and VFDs.
Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance tools and techniques.
Capable of working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Communicate effectively and clearly, verbally and in writing.
Skilled in document management, including sorting and filing techniques and record retention
Work Conditions
Fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, electrical hazards, noise, dust, and confined spaces.
Must be able to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to work rotating shifts, as needed.
