Senior Maintenance Mechanic

SUMMARY: This is a 3rd shift position.

Perform equipment and facilities electro-mechanical, furnace and combustion trouble-shooting, preventative and repair maintenance activities. Assist and instruct other hourly maintenance personnel by conducting training sessions to expand and optimize the knowledge and performance of the Rotek maintenance activities. Participate and focus upon efforts of continuous improvement to develop and implement changes to procedures, programs, and policies that foster the efficiency and productivity of the Maintenance and Manufacturing Plant Operations.

The individual must observe and comply with all safety rules and precautions, utilizing extreme care when exposed to high voltage and arch flash potential energy sources.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to utilize ACAD, Excel, and Power Point and Word software is required. Able to prepare and maintain records and reports of information such as machine inspection reports, down time and preventative maintenance work orders.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: proportions, percentages, area, weight, temperature, velocity, circumference, material strength and volume. Be able to apply concepts of algebra, trigonometry, physics and geometry. Be able to convert numbers from decimal to binary, BCD, and hexadecimal and to identify typical discrete and analog inputs and outputs. Be able to convert units of measure, temperature, volume, energy, proportions and pressure.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, ear protection is required. The manufacturing and office are non-smoking environments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Possess a minimum five-year journeyman status and / or technical degree certification from a college or technical school. Training and working experience must, at a minimum include heavy industrial hydraulics, furnace combustion and surveys, intimate knowledge of hydraulic presses and systems, Allen Bradley logic programming knowledge and understanding of Fanuc and Siemens controls and drives, CNC electronic control devices, motors and drives and high voltage wiring and applications.

EXPORT CONTROL:

This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
