Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Install, repair, operate, and maintain potable and non-potable water systems, public and well water distribution systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewage grinder and ejector pumps, storm water drainage systems, water treatment systems, and cooling water systems.

  • Install, repair, operate, and maintain restaurant and food preparation equipment, gas piping systems, swimming pool equipment, plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, water heaters, regulators, gas heaters, thermostats, control devices, meters, steam piping and trap systems, and public restroom equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Three years of verifiable work experience in the plumbing trade. (Can substitute completion of trade school related training for one year of work experience.)

  • Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to operate a manual transmission

  • This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.

  • Must pass a respirator health screening.

  • Ability to pass a trade aptitude test.

  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a working knowledge of all plumbing related tools.

  • Must be able to read engineering blue prints and specifications.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes relating to trade.

  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess a positive teamwork approach.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.

Job Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Must be able to work at heights of 100 feet.

  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Wearing company supplied safety equipment is required.

  • Working with chemicals is involved.

  • Must be able to supply hand and related tools.

  • Flexible working hours including shift work, weekends, and holidays.

  • This is a Union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
