Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of production equipment and plant facilities. You will perform immediate repairs, implement preventative maintenance schedules, and maintain cleanliness in your work area.
**Responsibilities**
+ Inspect production equipment and plant facilities to ensure a safe working environment.
+ Perform maintenance mechanic duties safely.
+ Execute immediate repairs on production equipment as required.
+ Implement and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
+ Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns, perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
+ Complete work orders, track time accurately, and report parts consumption.
+ Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of work areas.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1-2 years of consistent job tenure experience in troubleshooting and mechanical roles.
+ Experience in mechanical work, which can be from an auto shop or vocational school.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and decipher machine or engine problems.
+ Knowledge of 24vdc-480v electrical schematics.
+ Basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair skills.
+ Experience with welding, blueprint reading, hand tools, electrical systems, diesel, forklift, and heavy equipment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Welding and fabrication skills.
+ Forklift operation experience.
+ Self-starter and team player.
+ Technical or other relevant training.

Our plant is well-lit and, despite the product, not overly odorous. However, expect some cement smell due to production processes. Be prepared for a dusty environment when machines are down. It's a loud setting, requiring PPE at all times, including hard hats, glasses, and steel-toed boots. The culture is blue-collar, with a clear leadership hierarchy. Communication is direct and objective, often loud due to the environment. Candidates must be open to instruction from different departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belvidere, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
