Facility Maintenance Technician**

**Job Description**

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and performing basic repairs of minor building electrical problems. This includes tasks such as lamp/bulb changes, ballast, fixture, switch, photocell, and outlet issues. The technician will also replace filters on equipment, perform minor repairs and maintenance of external building, grounds, plumbing, and other mechanical systems or equipment. The role involves monitoring fluid levels and changing fluids, including coolant, safely transporting and storing used coolant for collection by authorized waste vendors. Additionally, the technician will perform facility cleaning, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms, breakrooms, and eyewash stations, and emptying trash and scrap bins as needed.

**Responsibilities**

+ Troubleshoot and maintain building electrical systems, including lamp/bulb changes, ballast, fixture, switch, photocell, and outlet issues.

+ Replace filters on equipment and perform minor repairs and maintenance of external building, grounds, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

+ Monitor and change fluid levels, including coolant, ensuring safe transport and storage for collection by authorized waste vendors.

+ Perform facility cleaning, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms, breakrooms, and eyewash stations.

+ Operate mower, trimmer, and other hand tools to maintain grounds; utilize shovels, plow, or other snow and ice removal equipment as necessary.

**Essential Skills**

+ Facility maintenance expertise, particularly in 110v electrical systems and plumbing.

+ Well-rounded electro-mechanical maintenance skills, capable of troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.

+ Experience with CNC maintenance, especially with Okuma and Mazak machines.

+ Ability to read ladder logic.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Facility maintenance experience

**Work Environment**

The work environment includes excessive noise where hearing protection is required, and exposure to dust, smoke, mist, fumes, and vapors regularly. Extreme temperatures may be encountered occasionally. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, totaling 45-50 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, Georgia.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
