The Mechanic is responsible for performing equipment repairs and maintenance in accordance with DOT and OSHA standards and regulations. Fleet equipment includes a variety of vehicles, medium and heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, small engines, and other various tools. Some of the duties of the position include:
- Perform annual DOT inspections for fleet trucks and trailers
- Prioritize and perform necessary equipment repairs regularly
- Perform scheduled maintenance on fleet and other equipment
- Participate in on-call rotation for service calls
- Coordinate with Lead Mechanic and Financial Analyst to quantify equipment repairs
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and fleet in a timely manner
- Order parts for vehicles and equipment as necessary
- Assist in keeping shop organized and clean
- Interpret blueprints, instructions, and fabrication modules for equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in similar capacity
- Possession of valid driver's license with reliable transportation to/from shop
- Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engine mechanics, hydraulic systems, and spray systems (industrial painting equipment), required
- Capability to work overtime hours including weekends and evenings, as required
- Ability to demonstrate use of tools, both hand and powered
- Effective problem-solving skills under very limited supervision
- Detail-Oriented
- Ability to receive and understand specific instructions and perform tasks with little to no supervision
Physical Demands
- Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Extensive standing, stooping, walking, reaching, handling, and grasping with repetitive motions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Work in all weather conditions in an outside setting for longer periods of time
