By joining our Roadside Environment Section as a Facility Maintenance Worker I, you'll have the opportunity to be an active team member in performing general maintenance, janitorial duties and upkeep of the Whitehaven Rest Area located along Interstate 24 in Paducah.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Operating mechanical equipment such as lawn mowers, weedeaters, leaf blower, hand tools, small snow removal equipment.
• Performing janitorial duties in maintaining restrooms and buildings at Whitehave Rest Area.
• Painting and general upkeep of facilities.
• Assisting with servicing of small equipment.

Working Conditions

Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
