Maintenance Technician Location: Marysville, OH. (At Industrial Ceramic Products a Division of Allied Mineral Products) Pay Range: $25.40 - $37.60 Shift: Mon - Fri 7am - 3:30pm Job Summary Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and minimal downtime. Performs preventative maintenance, supports construction projects and the installation of new equipment as well as all necessary maintenance. This role supports the plants operational goals by ensuring all systems function in a high quality, safe, and reliable manner. Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and water systems to quickly resolve production issues.
- Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, tunnel kiln, chiller, and forming equipment.
- Manages inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to minimize production disruptions.
- Responsible for die set-up and optimization.
- Collaborates with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
- Assists with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Monitors and maintains water, heat, and compressed air systems.
- Participates in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and suggests process enhancements.
- Maintain high standards for housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
- Maintains detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
- Ensures all maintenance activities comply with safety and quality standards.
- Appropriate use of PPE including use of respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, safety harnesses, and necessary safety equipment as required
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in machine maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Welding and machining experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to independently work through, identify and isolate the root cause of a problem, based on observation or on the reporting of issues from the production team.
- Must be able to repair or be able to source information to resolve issues with machinery regarding mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment.
- Able to plan and execute routine maintenance activities as well as respond to unexpected equipment issues.
- Ability to read, write and interpret maintenance documentation, manuals, SOPs, labeling, and regulations within the job.
- Must keep clear and accurate records of routine testing as well as troubleshooting and repairs and keep required documentation up to date to ensure compliance with internal and external manufacturing guidelines.
- Working in varying temperatures and conditions, including dusty environments.
- Work hours may vary including early morning start, evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to work in elevated platforms.
- Must be able to qualify for and wear a respirator.
