SUMMARY Oversees the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. Supervises and leads the maintenance team to ensure optimal functionality and safety of all equipment. Supervises maintenance operations to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise, maintain, clean, lubricate, repair and performs preventive maintenance to production machinery that include: Trumpf & Tanaka Lasers, PythonX & Messer Plasma Table, Nieland, Pacific and LVD Brakes, Peddinghaus, Viper, & Haas Machining Centers, Haas & C.R. Onsrud Routers, Rolls, Paint & Sandblasting Booths and Welding Machines. Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and ready for production. Oversee the troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Maintain fixtures and equipment to minimize downtime. Diagnose complex repair issues and oversee the repair or replacement of defective parts. Supervise the operation of cutting torches and other equipment for metal cutting and repairs. Ensure proper maintenance of facility utilities/support equipment, including air, water, drain, steam, hydraulic, and electric systems. Promote and enforce safety standards, including understanding machine operations, emergency stops, and utilization of personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Oversee routine cleaning of equipment and general housekeeping in and around the maintenance shop. Manage the collection and disposal of solid and hazardous waste generated at the work site. Develop and manage the maintenance budget. Track and report on maintenance metrics and key performance indicators. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production operations. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements: SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises Maintenance Technicians and Manufacturing Custodians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in utilizing hand-held tools/machinery/instruments, both manual and powered, both precision and non-precision. Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, painting, greasing, oiling, grinding, drilling, disassembling and reassembling simple machine parts. Expertise in welding and cutting with gas torches, troubleshoot machine controls. Ability to develop and follow maintenance procedures, and maintain proper documentation, drawings, and files. Knowledgeable in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic controls, materials and components. Ability to operate, set, and regulate/adjust machinery. Expertise in troubleshooting machine controls, disassembling and assembling machine parts. Expertise in installing conduit, pipe, regulators, and hoses Knowledgeable in PLC and computer controls, relay ladder logic, and electronic controls preferred. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs without assistance. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team environment successfully Ability to read and speak English Ability to be on call on all shifts EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (Accounting B.S. or B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from meters, dials, calibrated scales, visual display units. Ability to receive and understand instructions via radio or phone. Ability to summarize verbal instructions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to follow instructions, in a logical order, given in oral, written, schedule or diagram form. Ability to observe, listen and determine if a situation is a health, safety, or danger hazard. Ability to observe operation/process/machine and identify faults and/or diagnose problems or unusual occurrences. Ability to ascertain job requirements from drawings/blueprints.
