Job Summary:
The Mechanic Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems and equipment. This role combines the skills of an electrician and a mechanic, ensuring machinery and systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Operate various hand and power tools to perform job duties.
Ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
Test electrical systems and continuity using testing devices like multimeters.
Maintain logs of maintenance and repair work performed.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve equipment performance.
- Listen, follow directions, and complete assigned work
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or certification in electrical or mechanical systems preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanic electrician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (e.g., 3-phase motors, control circuits).
- Familiarity with mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
