Whether you're starting out in the field or bringing years of hands-on experience, the City of Coppell is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Worker or Facilities Technician, depending on qualifications. This role helps maintain city buildings through plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and general repairs-keeping our spaces safe, functional, and ready to serve the community.

We're looking for someone with a mechanical mindset, basic hand tool and carpentry skills, and a strong work ethic. Strength in one trade is great and we're ready to support growth in others. Schedule Commitment

Regular attendance is vital, with employment duties typically carried out Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed while on call. Employees are required to be on call on a weekly rotational basis and may occasionally need to work after hours without notice. Furthermore, employees may be required to work during severe winter weather or emergency-related events.

Pay Plan

The Facilities Maintenance Worker and Facilities Technician are non-exempt positions. The full Pay Grade Ranges are shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

Facilities Maintenance Worker, Pay Grade #5

Hiring Range: $19.17-$23.48

  • Min $19.17 ($39,866)

  • Mid $23.48 ($48,834)

  • Max $27.79 ($57,802)

Facilities Technician, Pay Grade #8

Hiring Range: $22.17-$27.15

  • Min $22.17 ($46,119)

  • Mid $27.15 ($56,479)

  • Max $32.15 ($66,862)

Candidate Engagement Plan

Experience

Facilities Maintenance Worker

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • No experience required; technical skill training and personal development goals will be supported post-hire.

Facilities Technician

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2+ Years of experience in a related field.
  • Facilities Maintenance Technician Training Certification (47.5 credit hours), or equivalent training/experience and the ability to obtain this certification within 12 months post-hire for continued employment.
  • Completion of the introduction to Mini-Splits (HVAC) program (15 credit hours), or equivalent training/experience and the ability to complete this training within 12 months post-hire for continued employment.
