Role Responsibilities:

The Operations and Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for operations and maintenance of the cogeneration power plant supporting the John O. Pastore Center in Cranston, Rhode Island. The Supervisor reports to NORESCOs Operations & Maintenance Manager. Equipment and site specific training will be provided.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • NORESCOs primary point of contact to liaise with customer personnel and coordinate third-party contractors providing direct maintenance support
  • Lead NORESCOs rotating shift operators in the daily operations of the equipment, which includes generators of electrical power and all supporting equipment and systems
  • Prepare, maintain, and update job plans for planned tasks
  • Ensure preventive maintenance services are scheduled and executed per the OEMs designated intervals and standards
  • Identify and procure resources required for planned tasks such as parts, tooling, equipment, materials, and work procedures
  • Review operations logs and performance data to monitor equipment conditions and identify issues with the operation of the system (critical trend analysis); promptly address leading indicators of potential equipment failures
  • Review information from oil samples, component operating hour data, operating reports and recommended OEM suppliers component replacement guidelines, to propose and schedule proactive maintenance and component replacement
  • Review field service reports from NORESCOs subcontractors. Ensure observations and recommendations are evaluated and tracked to resolution.
  • Maintain the sites document retention (ensure storage on NORESCOs share drives)
  • Develop critical path plans and execute efficient periodic maintenance outages, to include coordination with NORESCOs clients and subcontractors
  • Coordinate and manage contracted resources and schedules during scheduled and unplanned maintenance work. Coordinate NORESCO managed activities with site owners management.
  • Lead regular meetings to review daily and weekly work schedules
  • Maintain good customer relations
  • Perform plant inspections and safety walkthroughs during operational and maintenance periods
  • Maintain onsite inventories (tools, test equipment, materials, critical spares, ); replenish as needed
  • Supervise the creation and updating of work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintaining accurate and complete records of work performed
  • Use CMMS to generate reports, to include maintenance completion reports, material history, and preventative maintenance forecasts
  • Maintain effective short and long-term maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Respond to the site after hours and/or on weekends as necessary to lead restoration from emergent equipment failures
  • Supervise and provide ongoing training for site operators and maintenance personnel
  • Assist in troubleshooting of the equipment to assess equipment conditions and to determine corrective maintenance path to restoration
  • Assist in Developing the sites long term and annual asset Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program and strategy; generate and lead execution of the annual O&M plan
  • Capture lessons learned/best practices; contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Manage project Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) programs to comply with regulations and corporate/client policies and keep the project in safe reliable operating condition; ensure compliance during daily operations and maintenance work

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 8+ years of experience with operations or maintenance of power plant equipment (gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers, reciprocating engines, )
  • 8+ years of experience with safety related programs (LOTO, HAZMAT, PPE, )
  • Carry up to 50 pounds up and down multi levels of stairs; able to climb 10ft ladders; comfortable working on elevated platforms
  • Current state issued drivers license
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays (as rotating shift schedule dictates)
  • Ability and willingness to cover shifts for operators, as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude (ability to troubleshoot, restore, and maintain a wide variety of equipment)
  • Practical knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Practical knowledge of power and steam generation
  • Experience with operating and/or maintaining power generation equipment and facilities
  • Experience with water chemistry control
  • Familiarity with safety related programs (LOTO, HAZMAT/HAZWASTE, PPE, )
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Candidate should live within 1 hour of the job site (or be willing to move there)
  • OSHA 10 certification (or ability to earn certification after hiring)

Pay Range:

$33.17 - $55.77 per hour
