Ground Support Equipment Mechanic
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to join our team in Ashburn, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for the disassembly, testing, calibration, repair, documentation, and reassembly of ground support equipment and maintenance tooling for our US customers. A strong understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and voltage testing is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, test, calibrate, repair, document, and reassemble ground support equipment and maintenance tooling.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on various equipment.
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and other mechanical tools for equipment repair.
  • Perform inspections, write work orders, and read manuals for maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Electrical experience including wiring, continuity checks, and calibration.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in servicing machinery and equipment.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance, inspection, and work order documentation.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic systems and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license.

Work Environment

The position is based in a small shop environment with a team of 5 people. The work schedule is from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break. The role requires occasional travel to different customer sites within the US, which may last from a few days to up to two weeks, though the latter is rare. We also rotate travel assignments among technicians. Once established, there are opportunities for international training trips to the UK and Germany, lasting 1-2 weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
