SHIFT: Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3:00pm

General Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on all plant operations and related equipment, keeping management apprised of plant conditions. Works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Crew Leader.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for Preventive/Predictive Maintenance & Repair of plant pumps, chemical feeders, air handling equipment, HVAC and all related plant equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Analysis of equipment
  • Calibration of instruments
  • Read and understand technical journals, schematics and emergency maintenance on all plant equipment according to recommended specifications.
  • Responsible for all in plant valves; operate on a scheduled basis to direct distribution or other non-plant staff in valve operation.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of equipment replacement parts and supplies wherever possible working within budgetary constraints.
  • Assist in training plant maintenance staff and other personnel in maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds. Work within all Board safety practices and apply in the training.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for all plant chemical feeders and related equipment.
  • Assist E & M Shop staff in equipment repairs when required.
  • Work shifts and assume Operator I duties as required.
  • Perform work during emergencies and inclement weather
  • Must be able to successfully pass a respiratory facial protective fit test for the handling of chemicals (This may include no facial hair for the protective fit test to be effective).
  • On Call & fill in for Maintenance Crew Leader as needed
  • Perform all work safely in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Comply with all safety and health standards and guidelines issued by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college or technical school preferred.

Certifications Valid Drivers License required Fit Test for Respirator purposes required CL2 Certification required, or obtain within 30 days of hire date Backflow Certification required (must obtain within 30 days of the position start date) Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) in 24 months Experience:

Two (2) years of experience in instrumentation calibration, chemical feed calibration and knowledge of all applied purification processes to meet regulation requirements. Safety and related training experience required for operation of all system processes and concepts. Fluid hydraulics, pipe-fitting and conceptual experience preferred.

  • Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Resource management skills needed:

  • Time Management: Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Management of Personnel Resources: Assist with identifying the best people for the task.
  • Management of Material Resources: Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Fit Test for Respirator purposes required
  • CL2 Certification required, or obtain within 30 days of hire date
  • Backflow Certification required, or obtain within 60 days of hire date
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) required, or obtain within 24 months of hire date

Working Environment:
  • Work is performed at a 24/7 treatment facility
  • Loud noise
  • Indoors and outdoors, exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions and handle hazardous chemicals with personal protective equipment
  • Subject to working in emergency overtime situations.
  • Subject to work in different departments and fill in for out-of-class shift work
