Light Duty Mechanic/General Maintenance/Warehouseman

Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Light Duty Mechanic/General Maintenance/Warehouseman to join our organization, headquartered in Palmyra, MO.

Education/Experience: Must have a minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must have the physical stature and ability to perform any strenuous tasks (climbing, lifting, carrying, etc.) which may be required in the performance of an electric utility equipment technician, general maintenance, and warehousing type jobs. Must have general knowledge of building maintenance, i.e., carpentry, plumbing, roofing, heating, etc. Must possess basic welding skills. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all vehicles, tools, and equipment used by the Electric Cooperative. Responsible for maintaining all Cooperative vehicles in a sufficient state of repair to render them, as nearly as possible, serviceable 24 hours a day. Responsible for performing such other duties of a comparable nature that may from time to time be necessary. A pre-employment medical evaluation is required to determine the ability to perform essential job functions and is subject to random drug/alcohol testing. Also subject to fit-for-duty testing for ongoing employment.

Other Requirement s: Must have or have the ability to obtain a minimum Class A, Commercial Driver's License, and must be able to provide the required documentary proof. Must be able to follow safety rules. May be occasionally required to serve "on call" and assist crews during storms or outages.
