By joining our Division of Facilities Support as a Facility Maintenance Worker I in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to provide upkeep and maintenance on buildings and grounds maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Holders of the Facilities Maintenance Worker I position will complete tasks such as:

• Perform a variety of duties in the maintenance of buildings and equipment.
• Operates machinery and maintains general upkeep of building and grounds.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment.
• Keeps records and assists other trades.

Ideal Candidate will have experience in:

• Lifting items in excess of 20 pounds
• Grounds maintenance
• Operating simple machinery and equipment
• Record keeping

Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
