Facility Maintenance Technician

Facility Technician Department: Operations Date: June 2025 Supersedes: New FLSA: Non-Exempt Shift: Day Reports To: Plant & Sustainability Engineer Job Summary Performs a wide range of tasks to maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment. This can include routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and responding to work requests. Job R esponsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs including pat ching, painting, plumbing, electrical, and other tasks as needed. Conduct routine inspections of buildings and spaces to identify and address maintenance issues. Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner. Maintain and repair mechanical equipment , and other systems and appliances. Perform groundskeeping and landscaping duties, including snow removal, as required. Assist with cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of facilities and grounds. Follow established procedures and complete the required documentation for work performed. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed. Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and codes. Provide support for sustainability initiatives and special projects or events. Supervisory Responsibilities None Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required. Experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, or related trades preferred. Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of standard tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in building maintenance. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the role. Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Valid driver's license may be required. May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in environments with noise and dust. May require working evenings, weekends, and responding to emergency calls.
