Performs semiskilled work cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities and performing related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Functions Sweeps, mops, and dusts offices, meeting rooms, and facilities; Washes windows, walls, woodwork, bathroom fixtures, and countertops; Vacuums and cleans carpets; Cleans and supplies restrooms, checks drains for odors and strips and waxes floors; Gathers and disposes of refuse, litter, recyclables and trash, gathers boxes of paper for shredding and takes trash to the curb; Helps set up buildings and rooms for activities and meetings and moves equipment and supplies; Replaces fluorescent bulbs and light bulbs, checks exit and emergency lights, and cleans overhead lights; Picks up trash and debris from outside of buildings and cleans parking lots; Polishes furniture and dusts file cabinets, desks, boxes, etc.; Replenishes restrooms with appropriate supplies; Checks condition of flags and notifies supervisor if replacement is needed; Cleans A/C vents, exhaust fans, and blinds; Checks fire extinguishers to ensure they are in proper working order; Shovel and salt all walkways and parking areas as appropriate during winter precipitation; Delivers and picks up fleet vehicles from the garage; Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in general building maintenance work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently; Ability to understand oral and written directions; Ability to read and write; Ability to perform heavy manual work; Ability to work independently; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
