The Assembler performs a variety of logistics and assembly functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Good hand/eye coordination. Ability to handle small components with ease and perform neat work.
- Ability to read/follow detailed written/oral instructions.
- Ability to accurately record daily activity and/or specific observations.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision when given proper instruction.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Be punctual, have a good work attitude, and work cooperatively with others in the department and company.
- Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
- Any other relevant equivalent combination of training and experience.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
NOTE Employees may perform any or all of the tasks described below:
- Prepares components for assembly. Trims component leads, bends component leads, assembles heat sink and voltage regulator subassemblies and other component prep operations.
- Manually inserts components into printed circuit boards.
- Performs final assembly of products.
- Performs final test of products.
- Packages products as per instructions in shipping/storage containers.
- Works from prints, drawings, samples and written procedures.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Performs all work in a manner that provides for the safety and health of self and other manufacturing personnel.
- Works from Bill of Materials, utilizing all error proof procedures when available.
- Meets work quotas while conforming to DMP quality standards.
- Observes and adheres to DMP Classification Standard.
- Observes company policies. Continuously strives to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements. Acknowledges responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste.
- May perform related duties or fill in for others in the department or other departments when requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding own duties.
