The Role at a Glance
As our Service Manager, you will wear multiple hatsbalancing technical guidance, operational leadership, team KPIs and sales strategy. You will lead and optimize all aspects of our HVAC division, ensuring our field operations run smoothly, our revenue grows, and our customers remain raving fans.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop our HVAC technicians and support staff (including our Fleet Coordinator) to maximize performance and engagement.
- Operational Excellence: Coordinate closely with the Office Manager to streamline scheduling, dispatching, and workflows for peak efficiency.
- Drive Revenue: Actively manage and expand service sales, including maintenance agreements, repairs, and system upgrades. Partner with the sales team to convert field leads into projects.
- Metrics & Reporting: Utilize Service Titan to establish, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to department efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction to senior leadership.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical diagnostics and guidance for complex service issues and escalations.
- Asset Management: Oversee inventory controls, data entry, equipment readiness, and fleet coordination.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in HVAC service, with at least 23 years specifically in a supervisory or management role.
- Sales Acumen: Proven success in driving service-related sales and hitting revenue targets.
- Tech Savvy: Must be highly proficient in Service Titan (both Office and Mobile applications). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and data entry/inventory software is required.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional team-building, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
- Credentials: Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA Certification (highly preferred for handling refrigerants).
- NATE Certification or equivalent industry credentials.
- Experience managing both residential and commercial HVAC service operations.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- This is a hybrid role requiring both office-based management and field support.
- Ability to occasionally lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in varying weather/environmental conditions.
- Flexibility for on-call or after-hours support as business needs require.
