POSITION PURPOSE (ELECTROTECH 1)

  • SHIFT 11:30 am- 8:00 pm*

Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Educated in the theory of electronics and have the ability to apply this theory in discussion with engineers in a manufacturing environment
  • Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component level troubleshooting and repair of product.
  • Screws, solders, cements, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board.
  • Data collection as required
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS (ELECTROTECH 1)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associates degree in electronics or equivalent military or industry experience. The candidate must have competency in electronics theory.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the use of test equipment including multi-meters,

oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc. Competent in electronics theory.

Competent through-hole and surface mount soldering ability

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Required understanding of electronics principles as pertains to troubleshooting electronics. Must be able to translate electronic schematics.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectively

across all organizational levels. Must have solid practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading abilities, troubleshooting skills and use of

common tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Physically active position, climbing ladder, lifting boxes (up to 30lbs), pushing carts, stooping and bending.
