Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking experienced FAA-certified A&P Mechanics for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a leading aerospace and defense operation in the Mobile, Alabama area. These positions support a highly technical component repair department responsible for maintaining and repairing critical aircraft systems and components in accordance with FAA standards and aviation maintenance best practices.
This opportunity is ideal for aviation maintenance professionals with strong avionics and aircraft maintenance experience seeking a stable weekday schedule within a clean, safety-focused aerospace environment.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Monday-Friday
Day Shift Openings
Hours will be either:
6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
OR
7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Schedule dependent upon assigned work area
Occasional Saturday work may be required based on production demands
Pay Rate: $35.00/hour
5 PTO days accrued
6 Paid Holidays
POSITION SUMMARY
The A&P Mechanic will perform aircraft component repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and servicing activities in accordance with FAA-approved technical data, company procedures, and safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to quality workmanship, aircraft safety, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair, service, maintain, and troubleshoot aircraft systems and components
Perform maintenance activities in accordance with FAA-approved technical data and company standards
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance procedures
Accurately complete maintenance records and required documentation
Utilize calibrated tooling and ensure proper tool control procedures are followed
Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
Follow OSHA regulations and all aviation safety procedures
Support component overhaul and repair operations within the assigned department
Participate in required training and continuous improvement initiatives
Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned by leadership
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Current FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License required
Prior avionics experience required
5-10 years of aviation or general aircraft maintenance experience preferred
Strong understanding of FAA maintenance standards and aircraft maintenance procedures
Ability to interpret technical data and maintenance documentation
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Component repair or MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) experience
Turbo prop aircraft experience
Structures and composites experience
Aerospace or military aviation maintenance background
Spanish bilingual abilities are a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and working in confined spaces
Manual dexterity and ability to work with aircraft tools and equipment
Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver aircraft components safely
Ability to comply with required PPE and safety procedures
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Limited domestic and international travel may be required
Additional pre-employment screenings required
Regular attendance and adherence to safety standards are essential
Candidates must be able to work within a fast-paced aerospace production and repair environment
