Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vertical Pump Mechanic to repair, fabricate, troubleshoot, and rebuild a wide range of rotating equipment. This includes centrifugal (single and multistage), gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, as well as gear reducers, blowers, mechanical seals, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has handson experience with vertical turbine pumps and can produce accurate inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and pump documentation
• Use micrometers, dial indicators, and precision measuring tools
• Safely operate mechanics' hand tools, presses, torches, and pullers
• Perform pump and motor alignments
• Rebuild and install mechanical seals
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair vertical pumps, horizontal pumps, and other rotating equipment
• Complete clear, concise inspection and repair reports

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of fits, clearances, and pump tolerances
• Proficient with micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
• Solid math skills for measurements and calculations
• Ability to produce accurate inspection documentation
• Experience working on vertical turbine pumps required
• High school diploma required

Preferred Skills / Additional Considerations

• Ability to perform laser alignments
• Ability to take vibration readings
• Experience with multistage vertical pumps is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problemsolving ability
