Job Summary Job Summary Under the guidance of the Tube Laser Supervisor, the Laser Support Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNC laser equipment across multiple company locations in North America. This position requires extensive travel (approximately 50%-70%), sometimes with short notice, typically starting on Monday mornings and concluding upon job completion. The role supports operational uptime, trains machine operators, and ensures safe, compliant equipment usage and reporting. Job Function Essential Job Duties Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on CNC laser equipment at various Reliance FOC locations. Work with 120-480 VAC and 24 VDC electrical systems safely and accurately. Interpret and follow mechanical and electrical schematics and repair procedures. Train laser operators on proper use and maintenance of CNC equipment. Document service reports and expenses accurately and timely. Stay current with all safety trainings and procedures. Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols and all safety guidelines. Demonstrate a fast learning ability and proactive problem-solving approach. Recognize when to escalate complex issues and seek appropriate support. Troubleshoot Profibus and Ethernet networks. Perform 2D and 3D laser alignments. Required Skills Qualifications Current and relevant experience with electrical and mechanical systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, can-do attitude. Formal education in a related field is preferred. Experience operating lasers and CNC machinery preferred. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Artube, or similar tools. IT/networking experience or certifications such as A+ or Network+ are a plus. Proficient with Windows and Microsoft office. Comfortable using and troubleshooting advanced software applications as needed (i.e.: ghost, reading log files, 3D files, laser communication apps, etc.). Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Reasonable accommodation and training will be provided as needed.
