The Shop/Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that allpany trucks and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and safe to operate to support efficient, cost-effective, and reliable fleet operations. In addition, the Shop Manager upholds corporate policy, procedures, direction, and culture while ensuring that the maintenance program's objectives and goals are consistently met. This includes leading and supporting the shop team to work toward established goals, providing input into the development of new goals and maintenance programs, and assisting team members in successfully meeting those objectives. The Shop Manager plays a key role in aligning day-to-day maintenance operations with broaderpany standards and strategic direction.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Policy and Procedure:

Ensure all establishedpany policies and procedures are consistently followed, as set forth by the Executive Team and Directors. Any deviations from policy or procedure must bne promptlymunicated to the Maintenance Director. This is achieved through:

A strong understanding of current policies and procedures

Effectivemunication, training, and clear direction provided to all team members

Personal Management:

The Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision, support, and development of mechanics and other shop personnel. This includes providing the necessary tools, training, information, and guidance to ensure team members can effectively perform their duties and support maintenance programs.

Participate in the selection and recruitment of mechanic staff.

Ensure all team members clearly understand their job descriptions, performance expectations, policies, procedures, and applicable goals or programs.

Provide the Maintenance Manager with ongoing, documented evaluations of employee performance to support formal reviews.

Conduct performance evaluations for mechanics.

Ensure mechanic concerns and needs aremunicated effectively to management.

Monitor and ensure quality of work meets Bison Transport and industry standards.

Verify that Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) arepleted according to Bison Transport procedures and formats.

Supervise mechanics, maintenance coordinators (M/Cs), and parts personnel.

Monitor productivity by reviewing daily Direct and Indirect Labor reports.

Evaluate mechanic efficiency byparing actual repair times with established Standard Repair Times (SRTs).

Identify mechanic training needs and report them to management.

Program Management:

The Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and promotion of maintenance programs to ensure operational effectiveness and regulatorypliance

Collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure that all repairs and preventive maintenance onpany-owned equipment arepleted in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry/regulatory standards

Identify and report on issues or practices that may positively or negatively impact the effectiveness of maintenance, safety, orpliance programs

Provide input into the development, improvement, and implementation of new and existing maintenance-related programs

Shop Scheduling:

The Shop Manager is responsible for ensuring adequate on-the-floor manpower to meet daily operational demands. This includes managing mechanic schedules to balance workload and maintain productivity.

Ensure sufficient staffing levels toplete scheduled work

assign and control overtime as needed

Manage time off and vacation requests to minimize impact on shop operations

Facilities Management:

The Shop Manager is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment within the shop and yard.

Ensure facility and yard maintenance practices meetpany standards

Monitor and enforce safe work practices throughout the shop

Maintain overall shop cleanliness andanization

Cost Control:

The Shop Manager plays a key role in managing maintenance costs and supporting cost-effective operations.

Assist in the approval process for work performed by outside vendors

Identify and report recurring mechanical issues withpany equipment to managment to inform future purchasing decisions

Monitor and report instances of driver miscues or abuse ofpany equipment to management
